What is Bear Underground?

Launched in October 2010, Bear Underground was an idea put together by two cubs living in Denver Colorado. We set out to provide a modern, feature-rich and easy to use online community for gay bears and all the guys that love them. What's even better, we've been in the unique position of being able to keep operating costs to an extreme minimum. This allows us to keep the website free and open for all of our members, with the occasional donation helping to cover our operating costs.

First and foremost, this site is about you. We wanted to build a community that put our members first. We're all about showcasing real members, making it easy to find guys to chat with or meet. We've been very open to feedback and suggestions from our community. Many features came about as a direct result of member feedback. Our goal is to build the best online bear community we can. And we're constantly making it better!

  • Mobile: Take Bear Underground anywhere you go. Our mobile optimized website is designed for use on any Android or iOS phone, and also has been known to work great on other mobile devices. Just access the site on your mobile device and you'll automatically get the optimized version.
  • Profile: Your profile is your space. You can upload photos or embed videos (Youtube and Xtube supported), mark content as private, describe yourself, and search for other members by a variety of attributes.
  • Messaging: Communication with other members is a first class citizen here on Bear Underground. You can easily message someone from their profile page, and have access to message history. Easily accessible on both desktop and mobile devices, chat with your friends about anything, from anywhere.
  • Chat Rooms: Converse with groups of users at one time. Multiple rooms are available, and you can create your own. View webcams and voice chat with other members. View up to 8 cams simultaneously.
  • Clubs: Advertise your local clubs. Post events and provide links back to your club's website.
  • Events: Keep track of happenings in the community. Post events, show other members you're attending, and see who else will be there.
